Assessment of Kernmantle Ropes in terms of Sheath Slippage: Method and Results

Abstract Worksites at height require the protection of workers during both movement and task performance. The rope access technique involves simultaneous use working backup textile systems. Currently, kernmantle ropes are most often used in conjunction with mechanisms that move along them lock right moment. However, this mode operation has a destructive effect on rope. Ropes must therefore meet number specific requirements, one important which is sheath slippage. paper presents method for testing parameter based requirements EN standards, including design implementation test stand verification its operation. Test results 11 types presented discussed. also provides some guidelines conducting tests.
